Adult Learner (Working Student, Mother of 2) Enrolls at ICC. We would like to Welcome to ICC, ICC Trece Business Management Entrepreneurship student Analyn Buronio. Analyn is 28 yrs old. ICC Trece Branch Coordinator Johnray Teodones shared Analyn’s story to ICC President & Founder Manny Del Prado.
When Analyn went to ICC Trece, Mr Teodones asked her why she wanted to learn how to use the computer, this is what Analyn said, “Naranasan ko na po kasi magtrabaho bilang factory worker po, sobrang hirap pong pumasok lalo na pag panggabi. Kaya din po ako nagenroll ay para lumevel up po yung position ko sa trabaho para naman po hindi habang buhay trabahante po ako sa factory, dream ko din po maghandle ng sarili kong negosyo balang araw.”
When Analyn enrolled last Sept 24, the ICC Trece staff immediately gave her an orientation on how to use ICC’s Pre Semester Distance Learning Training (PSDLT). As part of the orientation, Mr Teodones ask Analyn to sit in front of a computer with Internet access. Analyn was surprised and hesitant, “Ay Sir, hmm hindi pa po ako marunong sa computer”. To which Mr Teodones replied, “Sige po upo po kayo dyan, tuturuan po namin kayo.” (“KakaEnroll Lang, Computer Hands On Na”).
When we asked Analyn to describe his experience in using the computer for the first time, “Medyo po kinakabahan ako pero sobrang natuwa po ako kasi may mga natutunan na po ako agad. Sobrang saya ko po na sa ICC po ako nakaenroll kasi po sobrang babait ng mga instructor ko. Maiintindihan mo talaga ang mga tinuturo nila.”
Welcome to ICC, Analyn and welcome to the numerous adult learners and new students who enrolled this semester. ICC might not have the biggest building or the biggest campus among colleges/universities, but, you can ask our previous graduates, ICC has the faculty members with the BIGGEST HEART in helping our students learn the latest Workplace Competencies that they can use to change the quality of their lives.
Note: Based on Wikipedia, An “Adult Learner” is a student who is at least 25+ years old at the start of his or her college.
